AN INTRODUCTION

I am Alex Baldwin. A Lifelong Motorsport Fan Who Has A Dream.

My name is Alex Baldwin and I have been a motorsport fan since I was a child. My father got me into motorsport by watching Formula 1 on TV in the early 200o's.

In 2004 I went to my first ever motor race at Brands Hatch in Kent. I watched the British GT & F3 championship which cemented my love of the sport.

I have loved the sport since that day. I drove my first Go Kart in 2008 after Lewis Hamilton won his first Formula 1 championship. This experience was unforgettable and the passion led to me karting every year since.

The passion for motorsport progressed past watching TV and driving Go Karts, as I set up a YouTube channel about the sport. My channel received a lot of support which enabled me to visit events all over Europe.

THE DREAM

What Is The Idea?

I want to know how hard it is to follow your dreams. Since I was a child, I have been a motorsport fan and this is a passion that has led me all over the world to watch my idols race.

This documentary is about my journey as I prepare for my first ever motor race. It will let me evaluate my passion for the sport and what stopped me from doing it sooner.

There will be many challenges that I will face before I compete for real. Will it be worth it? Will achieving my dream change my perspective of the sport I have admired my whole life?

The emotional journey will be captured in a 20-minute documentary as I go on a personal journey from a rookie, to racing a car for the first time.

THE CONCEPT

Quick Overview

The documentary will start with a flash forward to the main race day, which will immediately engage the viewer in the subject matter.

The start of the film will show my progression as a person, through various hurdles that I need to overcome before my first motor race. These include, a racing license, fitness and raising funds. The start will also highlight the importance of this subject by exploring my past with the sport and why this challenge means something to me.

As the documentary evolves you will see me take on these challenges and adapt accordingly. These sequences will be personal and allow the viewer into my mind as I push myself to the limit. I will speak to contributors about their struggles in motorsport and how I should overcome them. This expert opinion will give further credibility to my documentary.

This will lead to the finale, which is a 45-minute endurance motor race with a teammate. This race will change my life forever.
